Had a lovely stay in Willow cottage. It's in a perfect location for enjoying local beaches and attractions. Warkworth and banburgh beaches were stunning. We loved visiting amble looking in all the little shops. In warkworth next to the masons inn was an alley which led to hire boats which was fun. Lots of hidden gems and the locals were very friendly. It was very disappointing that there was no Wi-Fi at this cottage, despite next door giving us there wifi code it still didn't work. We had to go out in the evenings to get Wi-Fi which was a pain. We found the sofa extremely low and uncomfortable and ended sitting picnic chairs and the mattresses all needed replacing. For these reasons we wouldn't stay here again which is disappointing. A few adjustments and this cottage could be perfect.

The location was great, right next to the castle and very handy for the village. Plenty of nice places to eat and drink and easy access to other villages and towns for a visit. The cottage felt cold and the hot water was erratic. The shower was not very powerful. The outside of the cottage was very uninspiring. It could do with a bit of tlc. Could be a really cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thanks for your comments and glad to hear you enjoyed staying in Warkworth. We are sorry to hear you had some difficulties with the heating and hot water. This could have been easily resolved by using the correct settings on the central heating system and is something we could have explained if you had contacted us during your stay. We would always encourage guests to get in touch with us if they have any problems (the contact number is clearly displayed in the cottage) as the majority of things can be easily dealt with, ensuring you enjoy the remainder of your holiday. I’m sure you can imagine how frustrating it is to only hear of a guest’s problems after they have left. Regarding the outside of the cottage; the property next door is being renovated – something we have no control over – this has meant a skip and some building materials were temporarily left outside that property. Our own garden is cut back during the winter so, as with all gardens, tends to be a bit bare at this time of year. In addition, Northumberland was suffering from some unusually bad weather during your stay which would have made it difficult for any property to look its best.
