Lovely 1 bedroom, dog friendly cottage in a quiet location but within easy driving distance of local attractions. Host was next door & came out to welcome us. Very clean & tidy, comfy bed. Small back garden which we would describe as ‘natural’. Friendly local pub 10 mins walk away serving tasty home cooked food. Reasonable supermarket about 4 miles away. We have assessed our stay as 6/10 because there were a few details that need attention - the bolt on the back door needs fixing; the shower door is a bit tricky if you don’t want to pull away the seal at the bottom; towels were hard & scratchy; some window catches are broken; pans are long past their best & no longer non-stick - not so helpful if you self-cater. Good value & perfectly comfortable overall.

We had a great stay at wheelwright. The cottage was clean & had all the things you need for a good stay. The bed was comfortable which we both had a good nights sleep. The owners we’re very helpful & very friendly. We will highly recommend Wheelwrights Cottage & we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

The cottage was spotless and quaint with very creaky floorboards. The proprietors had left us some milk, bread, jam and a bottle of apple juice which was very nice and very hospitable of them. The only gripe we had was the dog notice in the hallway which states you can't allow your dog upstairs or leave it alone in the cottage. We've taken our dog to many holiday places before and she's been quite happy to be left for an hour or so to allow us to go to the nearest eatery to dine out. This holiday we had to take her with us to the nearest gastro pub, which was just down the road and, luckily, they were a very dog-friendly pub so we could take her in with us. As far as not allowing dogs upstairs we used the clothes airer to put across the bottom of the stairs to prevent this. Re all that we're not sure we'd class it as 100% dog-friendly a cottage, I'm afraid, and feel a copy of the dog notice in the hall should be placed on this cottage's website so people know in advance.
