This delightfully cosy, semi-detached holiday cottage stands just yards from the quiet village inn and provides an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area. Board the steam train in Pickering, 2½ miles, to enjoy a leisurely trip through the stunning North York Moors, discover past traditions at the Ryedale Folk Museum in picturesque Hutton-le-Hole, 6 miles, visit the quaint fishing villages of Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes, or the coastal resorts of Scarborough and Whitby. There are stately homes at Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall, and abbey ruins at Rievaulx and Byland. Championship golf course, 17 miles. Beach 26.75 miles. Shop 1.5 miles, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

    Stylishly furnished cottage, comprehensively supplied with lovely welcome goodies. Brilliant location, very peaceful but less than a minute's drive from the A170 and right by the North Yorks Moors National Park. Just fabulous!

    Very comfortable cottage. We were met by the owner who showed us round & said if we needed anything to contact her . Nice welcome extras. Parking space was a plus . Good position for touring.

    Delightful cottage and super friendly owners. Attention to detail amazing and made to feel really welcome. Cottage had a great vibe and there was everything you need for a fab holiday. Highly recommended.

    Top quality accommodation, warm, excellent decor and quite well appointed. Only three minor reservations, could only see the top of my head in the bathroom mirror, could have done with a reading light for sofa and the outside seat too public for our taste. Owner very welcoming and helpful.

    This cottage was so warm and welcoming when we arrived in the cold and dark - there were candles in lanterns and lights left on inside so that we could find our way. Everything has been thought about, from the well-equipped kitchen to the plentiful pillows. The shower is nice and powerful which was so nice. There are beautiful laminate wooden floors downstairs, a downstairs toilet and two cosy bedrooms and family bathroom upstairs. There is off-road parking. Lesley, the cottage owner is so friendly and helpful. It was such a treat to have a bottle of wine and chocolates left for us too. The local pub is comfortable although you are a very short drive from other good pubs - the Sun Inn in Pickering for real ale and the Fox and Hounds in Sinnington for food. The cottage is ideally located for short trips to Helmsley, Pickering, Malton and other great local towns. Cropton forest is also just down the road. We couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend away, very Wintry and Christmassy - perfect.

    We were greeted by the owner who showed us the property, and answered any questions we had. Westwood cottage is cosy, very clean and tidy. 10 out of 10 -Top marks.

    A delightful cottage in a great location to access the North Yorkshire Moors. If you are looking for a restful break in a cottage decorated and cared for to a very high standard,Westwood Cottage would definitely be worth considering. Our expectations were exceeded and it was without doubt a place that we felt we could relax in.
