It is 4 miles from the old market town of Chesterfield, famous for its crooked spire and offering a large range of facilities; shops, restaurants, cafés, cinema, bowling, swimming, and gyms. Walton Golf Club, just two miles away, accepts visitors. It provides a great holiday base for discovering the many attractions and activities available in the Peak District.

Within ten miles are Chatsworth House, Gardens, children’s farm with adventure playground, the town of Bakewell, famous for its puddings and livestock market, Bolsover Castle, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Renishaw’s Italianate gardens, Matlock Bath with cable car to the heights of Abraham, Darley Dale steam railway and the Crich tramway museum.

A little further, picturesque villages include Ashford-in-the-Water, Eyam plague village, Winster, and Castleton with its caverns and castle and Buxton spa town. In addition to the many walking and cycling trails in the peaks, countryside walks are available from the doorstep over the local hills and moors. Shop and pubs 0.5 miles away.
