These include white water rafting, mountain bike trails, canoeing, golf and excellent walking and birdwatching. Close by lies the lovely town of Llangollen where visitors will find an abundance of interesting shops, inns and restaurants and great attractions including horse drawn canal boat trips and historic steam train journeys. From here, there are narrowboat trips across the famous Pontcysyllte aqueduct, the highest and longest on the whole canal system, and the surrounding Dee Valley is a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop for climbing, abseiling and gorge walking. Sitting high above Llangollen are the mysterious ruins of Dinas Bran Castle, the legendary hiding place of the Holy Grail, and well worth the walk to take in the fabulous views, whilst Chirk with its lovely National Trust castle is also close by.
