Description

This beautiful cottage boasts many comforts including a cost wood burner to snuggle-up in front of on those cooler evenings.

Set on the edge of Pembrokeshire’s National Park in the charming village of Mathry with its Welsh pub and tea room, these two traditional Pembrokeshire barns were originally built in 1650 and have been restored to a very good standard.
Swallows Lodge is a former dairy barn and has been lovingly restored to provide guests with an unforgettable holiday experience offering comfort and space. Remarkable attention has been taken to ensure all the character and charm has been retained including exposed beams, stone walls, arrow slit windows and oak and limestone floors. It has been decorated in neutral tones with quality furnishings and a well-equipped, bespoke kitchen. The open-plan living room boasts an impressive vaulted beamed ceiling, whilst a wood burner has been added to provide guests with a wonderful cosy ambience at any time of year.
Ravens Roost is a former hay barn and offers sumptuous comfort and space. Remarkable attention has been taken to ensure comfortable furnishings and the cottage boasts a bespoke open plan kitchen with focal reclaimed mezzanine. The living area has been beautifully restored with exposed stone walls and feature wood burner, with an impressive vaulted beamed ceiling.
Upper Farm Barns lies just a stone’s throw away from the delightful Abermawr. Home to rugged cliffs, golden beaches and wild inland hills, the area has lots to offer. The quaint, historic city of St Davids is within easy reach, and is renowned for its magnificent 12th century cathedral and medieval ruins of Bishops Palace. The beaches of Whitsands, Newgale and Abereiddi are well worth a visit, where there are hidden rock pools, impressive surfing and water sports activities. The ancient town of Newport is close by, featuring two beautiful beaches with a selection of gift shops, traditional pubs, restaurants and cafés beneath the shadows of mount Carningli, a famous hilltop, rich with myths and legends. For a relaxing day out, visit the beautiful harbour villages of Solva and Porthgain, encased in their tranquil fishing harbours and featuring a variety of gift shops, art galleries and highly acclaimed seafood restaurants, with freshly caught fish of the day always on the menu. Beach 3 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Booked this last minute and have had a wonderful week. Barn has been beautifully converted inside and was perfect for a couple. Although the mezzanine room is lovely it got very hot so wouldn't recommend for children as you couldn't leave the window open safely with little ones. The small garden area needs attention, we felt this let the property down a little when so much consideration has gone into the interior. It is an excellent base for the area and can recommend the local pub for food.

Very nice place but infested with flies (cow field at the back) & beatles climbing the walls. We were so glad to get home.

Response on behalf of the owner-Owner and Agency details are available for the reporting of any issues or emergencies that would affect a guests stay. Whilst nothing had been raised directly; upon hearing of the review, we have immediately investigated and have found no evidence of an insect problem. Thank you.

loved the house and was good for the doggies too, The main bed room ceiling light did not work and the shower room had not very hot water in shower, The dishwasher and washing machine worked well and hot water in taps, cooker was good, and plenty of seats,

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner-Thank you for your feedback. There was an electrical issue in the main bedroom that was affecting the lighting - but this has now been addressed and the light is working fine. Bath and shower taps actually have anti-scold regulators on them but we have tested the hot water temperature and believe this to have been the reason. We will be adding a clarification to the Welcome Book for future guests.
