The open-tread, spiral stairs lead to a galleried bedroom with a comfortable super kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room fitted with a volcanic rock basin and large shower cubicle.
Stepping out from the door, there are miles of footpaths and cycle trails in the surrounding area. Just a couple of minutes walk away is the famous village tea room, featured in the ’39 Steps’ film, a local pub and post office. This scenic area has been attracting visitors for generations including Queen Victoria and was an essential part of any Victorians visit to Scotland, you can follow in the footsteps of John Ruskin and the Glasgow Boys who brew inspiration for art and poetry from their visits to Brig o’ Turk.
There is a lot to do in the area, such as a cruise on the steam ship, Sir Walter Scott, on Loch Katrine, a forest drive, whisky distilleries, ancient monuments and castles to visit. The bustling Victorian tourist town of Callander is only 5 minutes drive and well worth a visit. Situated on the River Teith, this pretty town is often known as the gateway to the Highlands.
