Stunning stone cottage set in the remote Glen Garry on a single track road that dead ends on the West Coast sea at Loch Hourn. Magnificent mountains towering over Loch Quoich, ancient oak forests and deer posing on every hillock along the road, and highland cattle wandering placidly. Happy evenings spent in front of the wood burning stove watching DVDs and peaceful nights in really comfy beds. Don't expect phone signal or wifi, you won't be nipping out to the pub and the water is somewhat disconcertingly 'natural' from their own borehole. Altogether everything you want for a remote highland holiday of walking, wild swimming and nature watching.

Location Location Location is definitely what this property has in its favour. To be able to hear the Deer rutting on a night and open the curtains in a morning to a family of deer is something that money can't buy. If you are wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this is the place. I have rated comfort and equipment an 8 because although the kitchen is well equipped some of the furniture is looking a bit tired. I have read reviews about the bath, the bath does have some marks on, but it is an old enamel bath and the marks on it is not dirt. Yes the water is brown but what do you expect being in such a remote location. Audrey the caretaker was friendly and helpful, she was very knowledgeable about the area.

The location and view from cottage I would give a 10. Plenty of nice walks around the area..plenty of wildlife. We even saw White tailed sea eagles on a couple of occasions from the living room window. However after having to wait 2 hours outside of the cottage for the cleaner to leave ( she arrived as we did around 4pm as stated in description ) and my daughter in law having to ask her to leave as we had been waiting for 2 hours after our long journey up. We told the cleaner we would made up our own beds as we were just wanting to have a drink and something to eat. Also the beds were uncomfortable. The couches were in desperate need of replacement. The shower head snapped clean off while one of us was in The shower, we fortunately had some super glue with us and temporarily repaired it. (Left a note for cleaner saying it needs replacing )..The squeaky floorboards kept everyone awake and to round it off we were over run with mice in the kitchen. It needs totally refurbishing as the place is tired and drab.
