Laundry Cottage is situated in the stunning grounds of Thorpe Hall, Rudston in the Yorkshire Wolds. Parts of the cottage dates back to 1695 and as soon as you walk through the garden gate you get a feel for the fantastic history attached to this property. If it’s a peaceful relaxing holiday you are wanting then look no further as this is just the perfect place to stay. The local village of Rudston is less than a mile away where the churchyard contains the Monolith from which the village gets it’s name (Rood Stane).
Thorpe Hall Cottages are set amongst the beautiful country estate of Thorpe Hall, Rudston near Bridlington, a magnificent retreat in the Yorkshire Wolds. The Hall is a Grade II building which was built in the early 1700s and is still very much a working estate and forms an important part of the local community. The local village of Rudston is less than a mile away where the churchyard contains the Monolith from which the village gets its name (Rood Stane). The cottages are situated a mile from the village where you will find a small shop along the way.
The nearest town is Bridlington just over 4 miles away and from there you have access along the east coast from Whitby, Scarborough and Filey right down to the resort of Hornsea. On the East Coast most of the beaches boast the clean beach flag award so a perfect place to take the family. The area has lots of stately homes to visit, Sewerby Hall is only a few minutes’ drive away, a fine example of an early Georgian residence and renowned for its gardens and a zoo. Castle Howard and Burton Agnes Hall are also just a short drive away. Flamborough Head and RSPB Bempton Cliffs are 15 minutes by car and boast fantastic opportunities to observe puffins, gannets, dolphins and seals in their natural habitat. Along the coast at Scarborough you have the Stephen Joseph Theatre which is known for its premieres of almost all of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays. It also boasts the largest open air theatre in Europe. During your stay why not try some of the real country pursuits such as coarse fishing or trying out some of the many bridleways across the estate that lead down to some fantastic beach riding at Fraisthorpe. There’s so much to see and do at Thorpe Hall Cottages and it’s all within easy reach. The owner is very proud to offer a tour and history of the grounds to all our cottage guests (subject to availability). A hot tub is also available to hire by separate arrangement.
This property (CC253025), Stable Cottage 1 (CC253023) and The Garden Cottage (UK2094) can be booked together to accommodate up to 22 guests.

Repeat visitor to laundry cottage ,great base from which to explore the east coast with a short drive to Bridlington for shopping and restaurants Laundry cottage offers a spacious ,relaxing ,comfortable and peaceful home from home . Set in wonderful wooded grounds it offers picturesque nature walks and wildlife on the door step. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and although we have never needed to call on him for anything you just know nothing will be to much for him to assist you with. Laundry cottage has quickly become my families go to holiday spot as it offers all 4 generations and the dogs everything we need from our holiday accommodation. We are already planning our next visit and would highly recommend the cottage to other families

A lovely cottage in a lovely location. Ideal for visiting all the North Yorkshire coastline within a short drive and a great base for peace and quiet and lovely surrounding countryside. Great little garden and outdoor space too if you don't like to travel around and a nice community run pub within 10 mins walk that serves good simple food. Overall, I would highly recommend this cottage and would not hesitate to book it again in the future.

We loved our stay in laundry cottage. It was an extremely comfortable home from home. The bed (there were more but we didn’t try them all out) was very comfortable and a good nights sleep was had throughout our stay. The cottage was perfectly located near to the coastal towns of Bridlington and Filey. The stunning Flamborough head and rspb Bempton cliffs a short drive away. A little further away we explored the fabulous town of Malton. The cottage owner was extremely friendly and helpful as was the site manager.
