Unfortunately the weather was not good. However when possible we did go for a couple of walks and spotted Deer. The birdsong was lovely. The cottage was very cosy, very comfortable, well equipped and beautifully located. A definate recommendation.

Beautiful views. 10 mins or so from Monmouth which has a lovely range of shops. Sun room is a definite winner to be able to see the view without sitting out. Lovely and clean. Nice welcome pack and personal touch. Kitchen is well-equipped. Useful utility room to store cases. Main bedroom would benefit from a king size bed rather than a double. Wood burner blows smoke back so maybe the chimney needs a clean.

Thornhill was one of the best holiday cottages that we have stayed in over the years, not only for the cottage itself but also because of the stunning scenery, the country walks straight from the front door and the warm welcome from Barbs & Roger who couldn't have been more helpful. Whether it was sitting on the balcony watching the sun rise and the mist clearing in the valley, enjoying the numerous birds and squirrels that frequent the garden or BBQ'ing, it was simply the most relaxing week which we both needed. And if the weather turns or it gets a bit chilly the conservatory is on hand where you can sit back and relax too. There are plentiful things to do in the area which will keep you occupied if you wish to head for days out too, we really cannot speak highly enough of Thornhill and will definitely return again.

What a spectacular holiday we had in the beautiful, quiet countryside. Thanks to the owners who were so helpful and thoughtful. A very special holiday indeed - a little bit of heaven!

Second time at this cottage. Feels like home from home, with owners Roger and Barbara as friendly and helpful as you could wish. You spend most of your time in he conservatory looking at the view or watching the birds [and squirrels] polishing off the food we supplied.
