Just a ¼ mile away is a post office, village store, café, fish and chip shop, vet, doctors surgery, potteries and art galleries.

The property welcomes pets and the owners provide a doggy welcome pack. The coastline, 2½ miles away, is rocky with sandy areas depending on the tide. For large sandy beaches, visit Instow and Bude, about 15 miles away. Beach 2½ miles. Shops, pubs and restaurants ¼ mile.

What a brilliant cottage! Perfect location for a peaceful break. The welcome wine, milk, Tassimo coffee pods and doggie treats were a nice touch. The Dog proof garden is excellent, the TV amazing. Ideal location for exploring North Devon, with lovely walks for Bruno (my dog) and stunning scenery on the door step as well. The local village shops and pubs weren’t bad either! Definitely a place the owners should be proud of. Lastly, the view of the stars from the garden on a clear night must be seen. Thanks👌

Had a lovely stay at Thimble cottage over Easter weekend. The owners were very accommodating and made an effort to stay in contact during our stay. The cottage was exactly what we were looking for, even better than the photos. We particularly liked the enclosed garden for our pooch. Whole cottage was extremely clean and had everything you could need. Bed was very comfy and felt like a 5 star hotel. We will be returning as soon as we can

What a little gem of a cottage. Thimble cottage was a beautiful place to stay. Had a great enclosed garden for the dogs. The cottage was really clean and the owners had thought of everything to make my stay enjoyable. The bed was so comfy and there was a basket of bits for the dogs too. Communication with the owners prior to arrival was very pleasant and although I didn’t need to contact them again I felt I could at any time. The cottage is quite remote but I loved that so it’s not for you if you want a lot going on outside your door but for a peaceful break it’s faultless, just wish it held more people so you could enjoy with a larger group of people.. Definitely a great place to stay

We have been staying at Thimble cottage for nearly 10 years and it is are recharge holiday. The cottage is cosy and comfortable, complete with all you need for a restful break. You even get WiFi and phone signal now. The owners have taken care to secure the garden, ensuring that your the four legged member of the family can enjoy their holiday too. The cottage is situated at the end of a lane and from here you can walk into woodlands, open countryside, up to the local pub and village. We love it so much we will definitely stay again.

A good small cosy cottage for two and a dog, Located at the bottom of a steep hill in the village of Hartland. Access is by a narrow lane and needs care when parking the car. Overall one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

Lovely cottage for a couple. Owners have clearly thought of everything and kindly added some welcoming treats in the fridge as a bonus. A great base for exploring North Devon and very quick and easy access to some lovely parts of North Cornwall too. Hartland manages to feel quite remote and be pretty accessible too.
