By far the cleanest most well stocked cottage we have ever stayed in. The owner was very approachable and accommodating who made us all feel very welcome. We will be back.

This is a lovely cottage - warm, homely and comfortable. The village where it is located is very peaceful so you should not expect any local amenities such as shops, although the Pub & Tea Room I can highly recommend. If you want peace and quiet, be out of the way and have a dog (optional!) then this is the place for you.

We had an amazing stay here! The outdoor space is unbelievable and was brilliant for our pooch! We would definitely stay here again.

We booked knowing it was remote so it was all we wanted as a base. The house is really lovely and clean with loads of books, games, dvds etc to use. The local pub food is fab and the tea room is also fab. Audrey was welcoming and the welcome pack was a great touch, she was quick at offering help when we had a storm and powercut, although there wasn't a lot she could do, there were offers , which was very kind. There is loads of outdoor space for kids and dogs and cars too 😀

A great little cottage in a beautiful English village. The secure garden made it perfect for my spaniel too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Weaning Shed. It suited us in our liking for basically quiet holidays, yet, with a short drive , one can be in York with all it has to offer. Using the Park and Ride at Grimston Bar makes it all very simple. We also liked the ability to book only part of the week which suited our purposes perfectly in this case. The accommodation also allows easy access to the many places of interest in Yorkshire itself more generally. There is little to do in the village itself, but if one is unworried by such a limitation, or positively likes this to be the case, it is a very good place to have a holiday. We enjoyed sitting out on the patios in the evening. A sat-nav is useful for finding one's way around the area as there are many "lanes" around the village itself. As for the accommodation, it is really first class in all respects - comfortable, clean and well-appointed and equipped. For a family with small children, the owners have thoughtfully provided stair guards and a travel cot. In all my years of self-catering, this is the first time I have encountered such real thoughtfulness. I am retired now, but would certainly recommend it to my son and daughter-in-law who have a young child. In addition to the generous indoor fitting and fitments, in the garage there is a fridge freezer, a tumble drier and several outdoor games. A truly enjoyable place for a holiday base!

Very clean. Comfy beds. Lots of towels, tea towels, everything you could want. Porch with little table and two chairs to sit out and have a coffee. Table and chairs in back garden. Washing line to dry washing and if it rains a tumble dryer in garage. Little lambs in field behind house.

Wonderful little cottage. We have never stayed anywhere so clean or well equipped! Every little detail was taken care of from the lighting in the garden to the bottle of wine in the fridge! The only negative would be that the wood burner made the lounge smell a bit of stale smoke but a few open windows soon sorted that. We would definitely stay again.
