Treacle Den and Treacle Cottage are two cosy little cottages ideal for couples looking for somewhere to get away from it all. Situated in the grounds of the owner’s home on a quiet lane in the countryside, both cottages are cleverly arranged for maximum privacy, ensuring a peaceful retreat. Within 100 yards of the cottages lies an excellent local pub that enjoys a superb reputation for its restaurant. Traditionally beamed, the pub takes its name, Botolph’s Bridge, from the local legends surrounding St Botolph, a 7th-century monk. There is an excellent selection of beaches to explore, all within 3 miles, and many beautiful walks including the Royal Military Canal which has recently seen improvements for walkers and cyclists. There are many local villages, gardens, museums, monuments and castles well worth a visit. The cottages sit conveniently within a few minutes’ drive of the motorway yet each enjoys a tranquil spot with countryside to the front and views of Lympne Castle across the fields to the rear. West Hythe is a tiny hamlet within 3 miles of Hythe, Dymchurch and Lympne. Set in a conservation area, with excellent local walks.

Both properties: Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Parking. No smoking.

Comfortable cottage in an interesting area. More than enough to see and do for a week. Parking tight and access and egress poor. Local roads narrow and busy

Excellent cottage, very well equipped, very clean and we were made very welcome. Surrounding area and facilities a little disappointing.

A great base for exploring the Kent coast. The cottage is spacious and well equipped. The supermarkets and takeaways of Hythe are only a short drive away. Bring binoculars so that you can watch the animals in the wildlife park on the hill behind!
