We have just returned from a great week at the Stables. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, with large, comfortable rooms. It's an old building that has been modernised to a very high standard. Everything you need is in the cottage and there's a lovely sitting out area at the front. The location is peaceful, the local village (Filby) is virtually on the doorstep and it's only five minutes or so from Caister on Sea.

A lovely spacious, and comfortable house. A thoughtful welcome tray with milk, cake and biscuits to enjoy on arrival. It was very well equipped with fluffy towels and plenty of crockery so that the dishwasher didn't have to be put on after every meal!Lots of leaflets and books giving information about the area. Carolyn and George were across the yard and were friendly and informative but never intrusive. A nice patio area with seating just outside the house and a small garden with drying whirlygig. A car is essential for the property but it is well placed for visiting the coast, different parts of the Broads and Norwich with Postwick Park and Ride off the A47 making it easy to reach the centre of Norwich without having to find parking. The local Mace shop (less than a mile away and open till 9pm) has a Post Office and stocks just about everything - from food and drink to hairbrushes and shaver sockets! We have been using self-catering properties for holidays for nearly 45 years and The Stables certainly rates as one of the best we've ever used. We don't often revisit an area but if we did go back to the Broads, we wouldn't hesitate to book The Stables again.

Very nice - lovely owners - just high level dust and cobwebs bring our score down (and plastic waterproof mattress protectors - horrid things) - would stay again though - it really is very nice - and in the middle of nowhere (lovely listening to the Gibbons calling at the Animal Park when laid in bed upstairs!). We intended using the woodburner but it was out of use which was annoying having taken wood with us - but the underfloor heating was very efficient (once we fathomed all the rooms had thermostats!).
