Lovely cottage, close to the south west coast path. Well equipped kitchen, and enclosed garden for the dogs. The access to the parking area involves a very sharp and narrow bend, with high walls either side, which was impossible to get an estate car around. Luckily the village green is close by, and we always managed to find a space.

We loved The Shippen and had a totally relaxing week there. There was not much to do in the village but the walks were lovely and we spent most of our time chilling out and enjoying some R&R. The shop was expensive, so it was best to get main groceries in Kingsbridge or online. The local pub was nice and did good basic pub grub. The staff and customers were friendly towards us. The house is very comfortable and more spacious than it looks on the website. The west facing garden is dog proof, although they could get out of the east garden if they wanted to, so we did not leave them in that one unattended. The village itself is dog friendly and there are lots of walks where you can let your dog off the lead. If I had a criticism it is that the bedrooms were a bit damp when we arrived. However, we opened the windows and doors and they aired out nicely. We loved The Shippen and really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Great place to stay with extended family due to the good size of place compared to other cottages we've stayed in. Photos don't convey how large it is without it losing that cosy factor. Local shop is a well stocked and the pub has a unique atmosphere, transforming from snug local to rocking venue when the hall opens for gigs. Only negative is towels aren't included- why?

We loved the cottage and its location. It was spacious and comfortable with a lovely garden back and front of it. We had everything we needed in the cottage - although we did bring our own towels as they charge for these. There were some cobwebs but over all the place was very clean and neat. Downside is they expect you to clear the place and remove the bed sheets before you leave - something you don't really want to do on holiday! We would definitely stay there again if we visited the area.
