    This is the first cottage we have stayed in which has no internet connection. Since I have to keep in contact with work I found this inconvenient. I don't think the inventory has been checked recently as some the crockery etc was missing or cracked. There were 2 microwaves - 1 broken, the other, the timer didn't work. Overall it was a nice place to stay and we had a good holiday

    We loved the house and the location . Unfortunately one of our party found the single bed extremely uncomfortable the mattress was alright but the bed sunk in the middle .Also there were no curtains and some of our party are very light sensitive . We will not return to this particular house .

    This is the second time we have stayed at No1 The Quay. The first time was in 2013 & I have to say that the property & it's facilities are looking rather tired & worn. Chipped mugs, cracked bowls are not what I expect when I'm paying over a thousand pounds for a week. The skirting board in the bathroom is rotten. The vertical blind by the main entrance doesn't draw open or close which affects privacy. The bedding & towells provided had obviously been laundered but looked grubby. The only property we've stayed in that hasn't provided a welcoming pack. Very disappointing. The owners cannot afford to rely on the location of the property which is stunning. They have to invest in the overall standards which frankly are poor. We would not stay here again. However, hopefully these comments will be taken on board by the owners & acted upon.

    Response on behalf of the owner; Thank for your feedback and sorry to hear of these issues as we always seek to maintain high standards of regular, ongoing maintenance and a rolling programme of upgrading the property - with many £000's spent annually on safety standards, decorating and capital expenditure. I looked into each of these points personally visiting the property - I found two chipped cups and a chipped plate - and have replaced all cups and side plates as a new set and reinforced with the caretaker/cleaner over double checking these issues. The skirting board was not rotten in the downstairs bathroom but had some water staining due to a previous now fixed leak. This and the blind to the rear door were due to and have been dealt with accordingly this week - which is a designated mnaintence week. Due to the high popularity of the Quay and its unrivalled location, here is little time between change overs sometimes to correct and make cosmetically good any issues in the hours available during high season. Apologies for an minor inconvenience and thank you again for your useful feedback.

    Very noisy house, fire doors slamming behind everywhere. Don’t expect lie ins! Great spot for the pub, but drive to everywhere else inc shop etc. Balconies tiny and virtually unusable. Kitchen well equipped. Properly is terraced not detached, so some noise from next door (probably replicated by us!).
