Set to the rear of the owner’s house, this detached holiday apartment has the added bonus of its own heated indoor swimming pool, which leads directly off the living room. An enclosed courtyard garden adds to the appeal. The village of Tywardreath immortalised in a novel by Daphne Du Maurier who lived locally, is a hidden gem, deep in the Cornish countryside but only minutes from sandy beaches, cliff-top walks and picturesque fishing villages. With its award-winning local shops and pub, the village is a perfect spot in which to relax yet central enough to tour this stunning county. The Eden Project and many National Trust houses and gardens are all easily reached either by foot, bike or car. Just a short stroll brings you to Par station so the chance to explore Cornwall by train is also possible, enabling you to leave the car for a while. Carlyon Bay Golf Club is close and the hotel has a spa for those who enjoy being pampered. The sailing town of Fowey with its narrow café-lined streets boasts a royal yacht club and annual cultural festival. Clean and comfortable but felt a little closed in with little natural light, we were unfortunate not to have nice weather which made the pool feel cold as no heating out there ,it could also have done with some TLC (pool edges broken and a bit mouldy), close to plenty of lovely places to visit which you can never fault in Cornwall ,even in the rain!

The pool house is lovely and I would recommend it but there’s a couple of things I wish I’d known before booking. The accommodation area is very small, there is no room to put any clothes apart from about 5 hangers in a wardrobe (no chest of drawers), so we had to live out of our suitcases, one suitcase had to stay in the car as there’s no floor space to put them. The village shop has closed, there is a good butchers but they don’t sell all the things I like about a village shop. Apart from that it’s good, the bed is very comfortable, the shower good and hot and the pool is wonderful. It’s also a great location for touring the area.

The property is smallish however, the accommodation was big enough for two people and our two small dogs. The swimming pool was warm enough and we used it daily. We were lucky enough to have beautiful hot sunshine most of the week and the patio garden is a superb sun trap and the gas BBQ an added bonus. Kitchen amenities adequate. Living room adjoining the kitchen area with a nice comfy two seater and one chair plus a television and a few board/card games. Bedroom compact but bed was extra comfy, wardrobe with coat-hangers and iron and hairdryer. The bedroom gets very warm so you need to open window. Top tip if light & seagulls bother you take ear plugs and eye mask, I did and slept a treat- Oh and I took a fan. ? Plus car parking right outside property ?

On arrival, the outside looked like a garage, entered by the side gate which stuck on the path. There were weeds all over the place, not a good impression. On entering the property, yes the pool area was good, needs attention, the accommodation was very small and rather claustrophobic. The pictures on the website rather mislead as regards to the size. Having unpacked there was nowhere to leave the suitcases so had to go back into the car. The bedroom was very compact and little space for clothing. The combined kitchen and lounge area was very tiny. This is not clear on the photographs provided. I will say that everything was clean and modern equipment saved the day. Although I enjoyed the private use of the pool, I feel that I was very let down with the rest of the accommodation and I wouyld not return

The pool was lovely, great location and pretty village. The cottage was clean and tidy, but unfortunately we felt it a little small for a two week break. Ideal for a long weekend/week holiday.

Second time we've stayed. The replacement settee is much more comfortable and makes the layout work even better. The pool is a lovely place to chill out at the end of a day's site seeing. Would definitely recommend it. We'll be back for a third visit for sure!
