Quite simply, The Pad is the best holiday property we've stayed in. It has its own parking space which is a big plus when staying in Whitby, and the location is minutes walk away from the town centre. Upon arrival the property was spotless, with milk, cereal and a cake to welcome us. The kitchen is well equipped, and the house seems to have had a minor refurb since our last visit The house now also has WiFi, which makes planning walks / days out easier as the internet signal on my phone could be poor in the past. Having WiFi also means that if you just want a quiet evening in with a film, you can bring your smart TV box (like Amazon Fire) or other device to plug in to the TV, and watch something on Netflix etc. as the TV has HDMI and USB inputs. The temperature of the house is easy to control with the main thermostat and individual ones on some radiators. Beds are clean and comfortable, and with 2 bathrooms (and a downstairs toilet), nobody should be caught short! If you're looking for a quaint 120 year old fisherman's cottage, this isn't the place for you. It's a modern, well-appointed property that can host 6 people and has a parking space (with a reasonably priced car park around the corner if you bring more than one vehicle), and is therefore ideal for groups / families, which many Whitby properties aren't. It's a spacious, comfortable, home away from home. We contacted the owner with a query during our stay and she could not have been more helpful and friendly, a pleasure to deal with, so don't hesitate to get in touch should you need to. Our thanks go out to the property owner and the housekeeper for creating and maintaining such a lovely holiday home, which we will definitely keep returning to.

A comfortable house ideally situated in a quiet area , although a bit of a climb back up from the harbour. Very good base for exploring both Whitby and the surrounding area. The only criticism we had was the lack of soap for hand washing in the kitchen or any of the bathrooms.

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for this fantastic review of the property, we welcome all feedback. I can confirm the soap is now provided in all bathrooms and kitchen. We hope to welcome you back soon

This was our second stay at the pad and it didn't disappoint, every thing we needed was on hand. Beautifully appointed with everything you could want, they owners have thought of everything which is great and the location is spot on with only short walks to town down Cliff st and across to the East side over the bridge for the 199 steps. The west cliff was again only a short walk to the attractions including the Arnold palmer golf and zigzag down to the beech. Great place and would highly recommend
