Transport links are excellent with Chester being only 8 miles away with its famous Rows, cathedral and world-renowned zoo. Manchester and Liverpool just 30 minutes away. All can be reached by train with a regular service available from Helsby Station, which is just over a mile from the property. Golf and windsurfing available nearby, whilst Delamere Forest is just 10 minutes away and home to walking, cycling and Segway trails, Go Ape, horse riding and Forest Live concerts. Shops 1 mile, pub with good food and real ale 300 yards.

    Great character property with lots of space for our group of 4 adults and a toddler. Nice decor and great location, we felt a few finishing touches would have been helpful though such as a bottle opener and washing liquid/soap. The bathrooms and oven could have also benefitted from more thorough cleaning which was a shame as everything else was great. Would stay again if the cleaning was improved.

We will review the cleaning schedule to ensure a more in depth clean is carried out at changeovers and will increase the level of inspection to ensure high standards are maintained at all times. Unfortunately, we do sometimes find that small items have "disappeared - but we will add this detail to the cleaning schedule so that it is picked up before guests arrive. We are sorry we did not meet our usual high standards for your visit but we will put measures in place to rectify. Thank you again and we hope to see you next year.

    Back again for second visit. Not disappointed. Lovely accommodation, just right for long weekend away and well placed for drive into Chester (which is lovely city to shop and explore because it's not too big) to visit my daughter at Uni and at Cheshire Oaks. Nice pub down the road although no pavement for part of the way so on a rainy windy, dark November night we decided to drive...it would be no problem on lighter nights. The owner, Alistair, is friendly and helpful. Will be booking again hopefully next year.
