The cottage was spacious and the rooms were clean. The position of the entrance on to the road was concerning with 2 young children in the car. The kitchen was a problem as the pots and baking trays were in a disgusting state. The oven was big but did not cook the food in the expected time. The upstairs fire alarm was broken and the downstairs one needed a battery. On one night the electricity went out in the area and the torches in the cottage did not work. No contact was made with us to find out if we were coping with young children. Disappointing attention to detail.

Very good base for lots of sightseeing. Potteries, stately homes, etc. We didn’t even touch the surface as we only stayed four nights. Would do longer next time. The place is full of character so expect creaky floorboards. The only thing to take note of is that the room with bunk beds is really only suitable for young children because there are vertical beams which slightly obstruct access. The owner Jody was very helpful as one of the party left a pair of earrings which she posted to us.

A lovely house for a big group. Plenty of room, plenty of bathrooms. Games room great. Garden super. One of showers very small. Shortage of lamps in bedrooms.
