The Old Stable is a very good location for exploring the northern part of the Peak district with several good walks from the doorstep. The owner came and replaced an unsuitable saucepan promptly when asked but this was a bit worn out. We were generally happy withe the accommodation and enjoyed our stay. It is very compact with some headroom issues in one side of the bedroom and little storage room for food in the kitchen. Easy access to Edale with its pubs and train station.

Small, beautifully designed and thought-out accommodation in hill walking country. Pubs and information a mile away, larger shops and other facilities 5-10 miles. Perfect getaway for walkers and cyclists plus those wanting peace and quiet.

Certainly not 'Luxury' as described, in fact it was a little tired, lacking in equipment for example only 1 saucepan, no oven dishes, with basic utensils and a lack of storage for food and equipment. The location is fantastic, but this cottage is on the small size which is OK if it was luxurious and well equipped, sadly it isn't.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; This is a small cottage and we have endeavoured to make it as comfortable as possible for our guests. Please note though that this cottage is not listed in the ‘luxury collection’. We are sorry that you did not find the utensils that you were looking for. We value feedback as it helps us identify improvements that can be made.
