Description

Set in a rural location, yet 4 miles from a beach, guests can experience both countryside and coast from this former granary.

Lovingly converted and set on a working beef farm, this former granary offers spacious, detached accommodation for two people, just 4 miles from the coast and its sandy beaches which offer miles of unspoilt walks. Whether its a base from which to explore the east coast and the Lincolnshire Wolds, also nearby, or simply somewhere to sit and relax in front of the wood burner with a good book, The Old Granary is ideal. There are good walks and cycle routes from the door, with the coast approximately a 10-minute drive away. The traditional seaside resort of Skegness is 9 miles away, with plenty of entertainment for everyone including the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve. During the winter months, visit the seal pups at Donna Nook. The market town of Alford is a 10-minute drive, whilst the Georgian market town of Louth, which still has 3 markets a week, is about half an hour by car, and is always worth a visit with its many shops, local butchers and a very good selection of cafés and pubs for lunch or evening meals. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

All on the ground floor.
Open plan living space: With beams and tiled floor.
Living area: With wood burner and 28" Freeview TV.
Dining area.
Kitchen area: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

We wanted a place to hide away for a whole week and get on with some projects and the Old Granary was perfect. Everything in the house is finished to the highest standard, it really is as nice as the pictures make it look, it felt like a luxury break. Met a friendly neighbour once (on a horse!) And the very nice owner, Sue, but other than that we mostly saw cows, a couple of emus, and the lovely old farm dog who would come up to the windows to say hello. It's a quiet area with lots of fields to tramp through and huge skies that are inky black at night for star gazing. There's not much in the immediate area of Sloothby but when you can just curl up in comfort with a log fire it doesn't matter too much. Highly recommend a trip to Sandilands beach/dunes which is about 20 mins away by car, for absolutely beautiful coastal walks (see photo).
