Description

A cosy, pet friendly retreat for couples, set in an AONB, and ideal for exploring the area.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and French doors. Four steps to 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Wooden floors throughout.

Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. DVD. CD. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Wi-fi. Large garden with terrace and furniture. Parking. Tennis court. Trout fishing by arrangement. Natural water supply from spring. No smoking. NB: Stream in garden.

Formerly the village forge, this cosily renovated and well furnished holiday hideaway nestles in the sleepy village of Lower Wraxall. It adjoins another cottage and is set opposite the owners’ farmhouse, in a ½ acre of private, partly wooded garden leading down to a stream. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is an abundance of wildlife to be found locally; footpaths and bridleways, making it a perfect location for exploring deep into the Dorset countryside. There is good access across Eggardon Hill to the World Heritage coastline at Burton Bradstock or to the harbour and beaches of West Bay. Also within easy reach are Sherborne, Bridport, Yeovil and county town of Dorchester. Breakfast and evening meals can be provided by prior arrangement. Shop 1 mile.

Warm welcome, cosy cottage, tranquil setting with good walking nearby and in the area. Convenient for Bridport, Sherborne, Beaminster and Dorchester. Good pubs nearby - the Fox and Hounds at Cattistock around 2 miles away, walkable when the weather is good/days longer. Hope to return.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely out of the way spot. One mile to the pub and shop and both worth the effort.

This is the fifth time we have stayed in this cottage in the past two years so I think that says it all.

Very quaint and comfortable cottage in a quiet hamlet, a good base for travelling around Dorset. We stayed in this cottage 2 years ago, the garden furniture was very old and not in a good condition then, but it was still there this year! There is very little storage for clothes. Water pressure very poor. Lovely touches like leaving flowers on the table, local eggs and Dorset biscuits also left for us. Left nuts for feeding the garden birds another nice touch. Just felt the cottage seemed a little neglected, particularly the garden furniture. Nice cushions provided for the chairs, but didn’t like sitting on the chairs as they were covered in lichen.
