Tucked away in the heart of Whitby, The Old Dairy View is a delightful three-bedroom holiday home that blends coastal charm with comfort and convenience. Set over three floors, this inviting retreat is perfect for families or friends looking to explore Yorkshire’s most iconic seaside town.
Inside, you’ll find a bright and airy open-plan living space that includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a comfortable lounge—ideal for relaxing after a day by the sea. Large windows in the living area offer lovely views of the harbour, adding a touch of Whitby magic to your stay.
The cottage features two double bedrooms and one twin room. One of the doubles is nestled in the top-floor loft space, featuring an eaves ceiling that gives it a cosy, tucked-away feel—perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep. Please note that this room is for adults only.
Step outside and you’re just moments from Whitby’s bustling harbour, sandy beaches, and winding streets filled with independent shops, traditional pubs, and fish and chip spots. Whether you’re climbing the famous 199 steps to Whitby Abbey or simply soaking in the maritime atmosphere, The Old Dairy View offers the perfect base to enjoy everything this historic town has to offer.
The cottage itself dates back many years and has even more family history. After the owner’s dad purchased the cottage, they discovered that the very same cottage was the owner’s husband Lee’s great grandfather’s workshop. The owner’s dad and mum live in Leeds and since the owner’s dad’s stroke in 2023, he hasn’t been able to make as many journeys to Whitby as he used to, but when he does, he still teaches a local ukulele group on a Thursday morning. The owner and her brother decided to open up this special place for visitors to enjoy. The cottage had a kitchen/living room renovation at the end of 2024 but still retains its old character. You’ll find photos of the owner’s dad’s many Whitby fishing trips, along with photos of playing in the Whitby Folk Festival.
Whilst there is no allocated parking, you will be able to park for free along Church Street.
Please note that no children are to sleep in the loft bunk.
