Built in 1818, this detached holiday cottage, a former chapel school room, stands adjacent to the owners’ working arable and livestock farm and provides a cosy rural retreat with scenic walks from the doorstep. Bird lovers can enjoy the close proximity to Tophill Low Nature Reserve and other reserves situated in the Yorkshire Nature Triangle including RSPB Bempton, Spurn Point and North Cave Wetlands. There are water sports activity centres at Billabong and Fosse Hill, golf at Hainsworth Park and fishing available locally. Visit the stately homes at Burton Agnes, Burton Constable and Sewerby Hall and enjoy the Yorkshire Wolds scenery which inspired the famous Hockney paintings. The market town of Beverley with its 13th-century minster and renowned racecourse is just 12 miles away and the coastal resorts of Hornsea, Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough, the North Yorkshire Moors and the city of York are all easily accessible. Golf nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

    Beautiful, comfortable, compact cottage with very welcoming owners and cake on arrival (milk, tea bags too). Dog friendly garden enjoyed by my furry companion. I was made to feel at home on my own with the dog, would recommend to individuals or couples who want a quiet base.

    My wife and I along with our dog enjoyed every minute of our stay at the old chapel, Wendy,Gareth and family made us feel at home,the farm was a delight, the local area was stunning. the beaches we were clean and very quiet. we would not hesitate to go back. we would like to thank them for one of the best breaks we have had,and to say, keep on doing the same things, We think you have got it just right. thanks again, Bill and Jules, from chesire.

    Enjoyed our 2 night break at this little gem,we live quite locally and wanted a chill break, the extras from Wendy were very much appreciated as was the lovely cake courtesy of Wendy's mum, Gareth and Wendy were very nice and talkative.

    A very cosy, comfortable and well equipped cottage for two. The garden is excellent if you holiday with your dog. I would return to this cottage.
