We had a fantastic stay at The Old Carthouse. It was very clean with fresh modern decor but still keeping the originality of the Carthouse. There was plenty crockery/pots pans and utensils. The owners introduced themselves when we arrived, they were very friendly and made us aware that they were contactable if we needed them (very lovely family). My children loved seeing the owners donkeys and the two very friendly and very well trained dogs.It was very peaceful sitting in the garden looking onto the fields listening to the birds tweeting. It was also situated close enough to attractions in the area when u wanted to explore. I would highly recommend staying at the Old Carthouse.

Delightful, airy barn conversion in a lovely setting opposite a small orchard with the owners miniature pony, donkeys and running ducks pottering in the field. Very peaceful with the silence only broken by the sound of birdsong. Warm, friendly owners were delightful but not intrusive. Made an excellent base for us visiting friends/family in Staffordshire. Would definitely come back to the same property in the future. I did find the mattress on the double bed very hard but obviously this is personal preference. Perhaps it would be worth considering having a Tempur mattress topper available for those of us who prefer a softer mattress....
