The best place for a restful holiday as far as we are concerned. Love it.

We had a wonderful week here, the cottage is cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The view is amazing and we spent a lot of time sat out on the decking and in the hot tub gazing out to sea. It is a very short walk down to the lighthouse, where there is also a lovely restaurant (The Lobster Pot). Even though these things are close by, it is still very quiet and quite secluded which is exactly what we look for in a cottage.

Fabulous cottage with everything we needed to make this a ‘home from home’. The equipment and furnishings were to a high standard and the hot tub was marvellous. Great views over Portland Bill and lovely surrounding area. A great base to explore Dorset from.

The Old Boathouse is immaculately presented, very clean & well equipped. Spiral staircase challenging. The hot tub was fab looking out to sea - but sometimes felt exposed as so close to the roadside. Location of Old Boathouse amazing but the Island of Portland looked tired & scruffy.

The Old Boathouse was a quirky and interesting place to stay although the spiral stairs ultimately weren’t to our liking. The views were beautiful and the hot tub was great fun. The location of the cottage itself was stunning but the Island of Portland is rather tatty and was a bit disappointing. There are lovely things to do in South Dorset and neighbouring areas but you have to be prepared to drive some distance to reach them. Overall, the Old Boathouse is a nice place to stay but for us, it just lacked the homely feel we look for.

Perfect hideaway retreat. The hot tub just added to it. Best of all was being cosied up while we watched the snow falling.
