This was our second visit to the Mill and it was just as special this time. Immaculately clean, everything you need for a carefree holiday. We were very lucky with the weather so were able to go on lots of walks. We met some really nice people on our walks who recommended some places to visit. One of those being Runswick Bay a short drive along the coast from Whitby. Well worth a visit. Only downside of the holiday, no trains as it was out of season. Can not fault the Mill and will definitely be returning, if we can find a week that isn’t booked!!!

We've just booked for next New Year - this will be our 7th New Year at the cottage! It is a gorgeous, clean, cosy cottage with everything you need to make your stay perfect in a stunning location. The Christmas tree, welcome pack and gifts are just the icing on the cake to make you feel welcome. There is so much to do - sightseeing, walking, cycling and plenty of places to eat and drink in the vicinity.

We have enjoyed many holidays in the Mill, it is everything a holiday home should be. It is very clean, warm and is equipped with everything anyone could possibly need for their stay. It is in a great location next to the river/stream and the steam railway station, with great walks straight from the door and a few pubs/hotels in the village serving good food. A unique cottage that is a joy to stay in.

A beautiful, cosy and very spacious cottage. Set in an idyllic location next to the river and steam railway station. Perfect location for walks straight from the door and an abundance of wildlife. Only a short drive to Whitby or Pickering or you could just jump on the steam railway. Great local pubs, restaurants and shops only a 5 minute walk away. The Mill has everything you need and is a real home from home. The bed was extremely comfy and has a fantastic shower! It has been lovingly restored and is beautifully maintained and decorated to a very high standard. We loved reading the history, old and recent and found the owner Ann lovely to communicate with. It truly is a holiday cottage with a heart. We will definitely return.

We have stayed in Goathland on and off for about 30 years and this was one of the best stays we’ve had. The Mill is stunning and was a real home from home. It’s the perfect location in the village and we discovered some lovely new walks. The welcome pack of bread, milk, butter, biscuits, chocolates and wine was extremely generous. I don’t think I can find fault with anything. To sit in the garden listening to the waterfalls and the sound of the steam engines was just fabulous and we hope to return.

One of best cottages we have stayed in. Perfect location for watching the birds, seeing the steam train and watching the waterfall. A short walk up to the pubs and shops. Was nice after a long drive to come in to a welcome pack saving nipping back out for bread and milk. The cottage was spotless clean and very well equipped.
