The Mill House is a charming 180-year-old cottage set in the heart of a North Devon village; it sleeps five people in three bedrooms. The cottage is full of character but with all the modern requirements for a cosy stay. Dogs are very welcome here as it’s well suited with the enclosed south facing garden, which looks out towards the village’s church spire in one direction and the rolling countryside in the other.
Walking into the spacious hallway through the front door, the kitchen/dining area leads off in one direction and the cosy living room in the other. The kitchen has all the appliances and amenities required to cook up a feast on your self-catering holiday including a Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge/freezer. The kitchen has a large farmhouse kitchen table to gather round for your meals.
Guests will love the comfortable living room with its garden views, wide window seats and inglenook fireplace. With a working log burner, guests can enjoy the warmth during the autumn and winter nights. The main TV has an Amazon Fire-stick for guests to use, DVD player and various board games. There is also BT Fibre Broadband and a DAB digital radio.
The three bedrooms and family bathroom can be found upstairs. All of them enjoy garden and countryside views. They have been tastefully decorated and come with luxury white linens. The master bedroom enjoys a kingsize bed and has plenty of storage, along with the benefit of a TV which guests can enjoy during lazy morning lie-ins.
The second bedroom can be arranged either as two singles or as a superking sized double while the third bedroom is a good sized single.
The family bathroom has a separate bath and power shower which makes it ideal for young families. All bed linens and towels are provided.
The Mill House is perfectly situated for guests to enjoy both Devon’s Northern coastline and its beautiful countryside. West Buckland is a pretty, rural village surrounded by rolling countryside. Exmoor National Park is only a stone’s-throw to the East while Devon’s famous beaches are a short hop in the other direction. Saunton Sands is a dog-friendly sandy beach that welcomes dogs 365 days of the year. Woolacombe beach, which is further round the coast, is also a wonderful stretch of coastline and ideal for walking on all year round and for sun-bathing in the summer.
There is free, on-street parking next to the cottage, as well as a permit to park in the village hall car park opposite the cottage if you prefer.
