The moment we stepped in the door, we were happy. When we walked into the living room and stood by the roaring wood-burning stove, I gazed out the window and listened as the lovely hosts explained a few things about the cottage to us, but really, all I could do was stare in wonder and awe at the jaw-dropping double aspect views of the North Sea! I knew it was there from the website description, but to see it - right there - with my own eyes, was something else. Everything else about the cottage was perfect, we felt at home from the first minute to the last. Cosy, comfortable, all amenities (except a dryer but the central heating soon took care of that) were in place with lovely attention to detail in the decor and facilities. Beds were very comfortable and the shower and bath ideal. Obviously, the most outstanding aspect of this cottage is thanks to Mother Nature - the magical sound of the sea lulling you to sleep every night! It is right there! We missed it so much when we came home, that I have 'sea sounds' on the iPad to listen to as I fall asleep now! Can't fault this property, or the hosts. It may matter to some, so I better mention the phone reception: we had none until we drove halfway back to Arbroath, but with views like that, who needs their phone...

The best cottage we have ever stayed at. The cottage was well planned, well equipped and the welcome from the owners was second to none. The garden was fantastic overlooking the sea and cliffs. Wildlife good, location only a few minutes drive from Arbroath. The location was quite as it was a cul-de-sac. Lovely walks along the Angus coastal path. We wished we could stay here for ever, at least another week. Thanks to the owners for all their hard work to make a wonderful holiday.

We spent a fabulous week in this beautifully decorated seaside cottage with amazing sea views. It really is a home from home and Nick and Cheryl have thought of everything you could possibly need. Auchmithie is a lovely peaceful and friendly village just 10 mins from Arbroath and all amenities. Highly recommended.
