Visit England ROSE award winner 2018
Set on the outskirts of one of Worcestershire’s most beautiful villages, Elmley Castle, nestling below the northern slopes of Bredon Hill in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Lodge at Elmley Meadow is situated on a small holding with sheep and chickens, and is attached to the discreet and friendly owners’ home, with views to Bredon Hill. With a cosy open plan living, dining and kitchen area with a wood burner to relax in front of on a chilly evening, a downstairs double bedroom and shower room and a large private courtyard to enjoy eating al fresco. It is an ideal property for all the family including your four-legged friends, who have use of an enclosed field in the owners’ grounds. The property is on an 18-mile cycle route known as ’around the hill’ which encircles Bredon Hill and goes through local villages, there are several footpaths in the area, including one which starts at the property, at the end of the drive.
The village of Elmley Castle has a beautiful tree lined main street with many black and white and old red brick cottages, with a pub at the end which is only half a mile from the lodge. The 11th-century Norman and Medieval castle, where the village derives its name, has long since disappeared but the earthworks still remain in the nearby deer park. The nearby market towns of Pershore and Evesham have a range of shops, restaurants and pubs and are only 3 and 5 miles away, and can also be accessed by the local bus route which departs from outside the village pub.
Within 8 miles you can find yourself in the Cotswolds where you can visit beautiful towns and villages including Broadway, 8 miles, Moreton-in-Marsh, 17 miles, and Stow-on-the-Wold, 19 miles, where you can find quaint high streets and fantastic eateries. There is so much more to discover close by including the cathedral city of Worcester, 13 miles, the historic riverside town of Tewkesbury, 13 miles, the Malverns, with their magnificent hills and popular festival theatre, 19 miles, and the regency town of Cheltenham made famous from its horse racing festivals, 18 miles. Shop 3½ miles, pub and restaurants ½ mile.

We had three lovely days at Elmley Meadow, helped by some fantastic weather in the middle of February. The cottage was in a beautiful location and was the perfect place to relax, which is exactly what we needed. We visited some lovely local towns, enjoyed a very good meal at the local pub and a walk up Bredon hill. A real treat was the delicious home made bread, eggs and milk that were left in the cottage on our arrival. Would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

This was a fantastic cottage for our short getaway, we had an enclosed area for our puppy to go out and an enclosed meadow for him to get his exercise. The cottage was beautifully decorated, great shower and amazing big bed. Everything we needed was there plus the bonus of milk, fresh eggs and fresh bread waiting for us on our arrival, as well as a bowl and biscuits waiting for the pup! Couldn't recommend this cottage enough, owner Andy was lovely and was there when we needed him. Can't wait to visit again.

We had a lovely weekend here. The Lodge was really homely and clean and had everything you needed and more. The enclosed courtyard and field was brilliant for our beagle so he could be off the lead and be safe. Andy and Emma were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

We loved this holiday lodge. Everything was bright and cheerful. There was secure grounds for our two German shepherd dogs and a small meadow for them to run around in. Andy was brilliant and attentive. Friendly and welcoming. We came away with bags of damsons he told us to help ourselves to from his trees and we’ve since made damson jam. We loved the area and we are familiar with Pershore and the surrounding areas. Definitely going back next spring.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Many thanks for taking the time to give us such a good review. Glad the Damsons have been put to good use and we look forward to welcoming you back next Spring.

Excellent accommodation - and facilities exactly as described on the website (unlike some others we have booked). Arrived to find half a dozen of their eggs, a loaf of bread and milk.
