Ideally situated close to many of the tourist attractions this area has to offer, including Padstow, with its many interesting shops, array of pubs and restaurants and quaint harbour. From here visitors can hire a cycle and ride the Camel Trail where there is an abundance of wildlife. Shop 3 miles, pub 1½ miles.

    Underfloor heating wasn’t working on arrival, it was fixed, but the communication from the caretaker and owner was no existent and this spoilt our stay. The seating arrangements were not suitable for 5 adults. Although the beds were very comfortable the rooms were quite small. 2 adults sharing one of the twin rooms struggled with some where to store their luggage and clothes. The cottage would be fine for two adults and two children, well equipped with a great garden and views. The decking would be lovely in the summer, but quite slippery and procerious in wet weather.

    Response on behalf of the owner; We’re sorry that the underfloor heating wasn’t working when you arrived. Our caretaker did come round the next day to check and called us to report the problem. We called you immediately and said we would arrange a heating engineer. We then called back and checked that you were happy for them to come out the next day. He came out as agreed and fixed the problem. We also provided secondary electric heating and confirmed with you this was satisfactory. With regard to seating arrangements there are 3 two seater sofas in the lounge and a dining room table which seats six with six dining chairs. Both twin bedrooms have wardrobes with shelf and hangars for clothes storage and there are drawers beneath each twin bed plus a bedside drawer unit.

    Great cottage and superb location and views. Only negatives... Underfloor heating in ensuite and bedroom didn't work during our stay. Nor did towel rail in ensuite. (Heating and towel rail did work in other bathroom). 2nd and 3rd bedrooms rather small. Rug in entrance hallway somewhat smelly. Garden not 100% enclosed - some gaps in wire fencing that our dogs managed to squeeze through and they're not small dogs. Would stay again despite these niggles, but would hope they had been addressed where possible.

    This Cottage is beautiful, in a great location with lovely views. There is plenty of room for 6 people. It is immaculately clean and still feels like a new building. Just for advice and in no way a criticism of the accommodation - The Camel Trail is accessed close by and there is a small car park at the bottom of Halwyn. We usually ended up driving down to the trail though as my 6 year old would not be able to cycle back up and my parents would not have been able to walk it.

    Great location with amazing views. Sadly I feel that this is the only part that is 5 star. For a luxury property I felt let down in certain places. The large garden was great for our young children to run around in but sadly several amounts of dog poo left by previous visitors wasn’t so great. The decking outside is extremely slippery when damp. Children kept falling over and at my 70 year old Dad almost took a tumble. Maybe a warning is needed. CD player doesn’t work. Plug in the family bathroom basin is broken. No recycling facilities. Wasn’t expected to have to take our recycling into Wadebridge. General waste bin was already full when we got there so we had to use another properties. Could be cleaner. Cob webs in most corners. Crumbs still on the dinning room chairs. Sorry just feel let down on the quality inside the cottage based on the money we paid.

    Second visit, leaving a wild meadow in a good percentage of garden,spoilt it slightly,as no way of getting to the bottom of the property to get nearer to estuary views
