Located just 10 yards from the spectacular 5 mile stretch of sandy beach, this two bedroomed holiday apartment is comfortable and well-equipped. Almost untouched by the hands of time, Filey is protected by the low lying ridge of rocks called Filey Brigg, from where the sands sweep to the south and end at the spectacular chalk cliffs of Bempton RSPB Bird Sanctuary. There is plenty to see and do in and around Filey, with easy access to the beautiful North Yorkshire Wolds with stunning views across the coastline. The North York Moors steam train takes an 18-mile trip through the glorious Esk Valley stopping at Goathland, famed for both the Harry Potter films and the television series Heartbeat. Shopping trips to the city of Hull and the historic city of York, with its world famous minster, museums, art galleries, curio shops, inns and tea rooms is just over an hour’s drive. Coastal and countryside walks abound, with everything from energetic distance walks to leisurely trail and cycle ways through quiet villages and bustling towns. The Cleveland Way and the Wolds Way offer unrivalled long distance walks. Steeped in history, there are many homes, halls and castles, with Burton Agnes Hall and Castle Howard easily reached. The coastal towns of Bridlington, Scarborough and the ancient sea port of Whitby, smugglers coves such as Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes are all within easy reach. The Yorkshire coast and countryside has so much to offer at any time of the year and visitors find themselves returning again and again. Golf and fishing nearby. Beach 50 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

We have stayed in this flat before, vey comfortable and clean. There were a couple of issues found on settling in, these were rectified very quickly by the owner ( in fact one item was a damaged dining chair, which had been broken by a previous occupant.) The owner came out from Huddersfield to look at the damage and then returned two days later with a set of new chairs replacing them all with new, more comfortable ones. I have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Our party consisted of 2 older adults (grandparents) plus for half of our stay an adult child, her husband and toddler. The building in which the apartment is situated and those adjoining it are clean, well maintained and look welcoming. The apartment has stunning sea views through large bay windows. The kitchen fittings are of high quality and the decor is tasteful. The larger bedroom is quite spacious. All windows are very tall and the blinds did not fully exclude the light, nor were they easy to use unless you were extremely tall (or nimble). The bathroom looks good. However the bath plug did not fit well enough to retain water which was a slight disadvantage for the time we had a toddler with us. The shower worked well although I would personally have preferred a shower with a flexible hose. Living area was quite spacious and well decorated. The online welcome pack was well thought out and quite comprehesive although we needed the full printed version of appliance instructions to work the oven. Parking , although free, was a problem from time to time, given the sea front location.
