A great place to stay close ro town but far enough away not to notice. Lovely views of the river estuary. Plenty of space to walk the dog. The owners are very nice and helpful. The only down side was the low ceilings upstairs but then I am over 6ft tall, we were warned and it isn't a serious issue.

A very enjoyable 2 week holiday, a perfect base for the area with lots of walking and birdwatching opportunities. Also would be fantastic for anyone mountain or off road biking.Everything needed in the cottage with Newton Stewart 5 minutes up the road with all the food shops, post office, fish and chip and more shop.Lovely owner and family with own ghost(TV that switches itself on) . All in all a brilliant place for a holiday away from traffic and people, just watch your head upstairs if you are around 6 foot tall.

Comfortable, clean and homely accommodation ideally placed for touring the area. The on-site owners were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The apartment was warm and well-equipped. Newton Stewart is about a mile away with two well-stocked supermarkets. Only niggle was that the main bedroom is over the adjoining Harness room's toilet and kitchen and a long walk from the downstairs toilet!
