Hen hoose lovely location pubs not within a mile more like 2 you can walk to but not the best at night the only 1 down side with the accommodation was the settees there 2 but the very narrow from front to back became uncomfortable after about a hour of sitting on them apart from that very small thing lovely place would stay again owners nice pleasant people as so are there children very dog friendly as the owners taken there time to make a path which is well maintained the grass is short and a nice walk to the river at the bottom we’re theres rabbits galore running around .

This is a lovely comfy place in a fantastic location. It has everything you need and is close to Newton Stewart ( just a mile walk along the river!) but is also in a wonderful countryside location next to the river. The views are stunning. Within a short drive you are in Galloway forest or on one of the many beautiful beaches. The whole area is full of amazing wildlife, we saw red squirrels, red deer and red kites! Also peregrine falcons and an osprey! It is so unspoilt with quiet roads and empty beaches. The owners of the cottage are friendly and very helpful with suggestions for places to visit.

A great place to stay close ro town but far enough away not to notice. Lovely views of the river estuary. Plenty of space to walk the dog. The owners are very nice and helpful. The only down side was the low ceilings upstairs but then I am over 6ft tall, we were warned and it isn't a serious issue.

A very enjoyable 2 week holiday, a perfect base for the area with lots of walking and birdwatching opportunities. Also would be fantastic for anyone mountain or off road biking.Everything needed in the cottage with Newton Stewart 5 minutes up the road with all the food shops, post office, fish and chip and more shop.Lovely owner and family with own ghost(TV that switches itself on) . All in all a brilliant place for a holiday away from traffic and people, just watch your head upstairs if you are around 6 foot tall.
