So much space surrounds The Granary - it stands in perfect rural seclusion, reached by its own tree-lined avenue, and is set on the edge of the owners’ sheep farm. It boasts a contemporary and calm interior design throughout, and the ground floor rooms are large and light-filled. Comfortably furnished and equipped, it makes a superb holiday venue for large families or groups. Large floor-to-ceiling windows (the length of the property) enable outstanding views to be enjoyed across meadowland. From the sofas or the huge dining table, guests can watch sheep grazing lazily in the fields, observe the wildlife on the busy farm pond (fenced), and spot the barn owls which hunt from ancient oaks. Guests can use the wall-size map of Norfolk to plan days out and about in the surrounding area.
There are walks and trails to enjoy around the farm (with unfenced ponds). The spectacular unspoilt Norfolk coastline and traditional market towns of Swaffham, Ely and Kings Lynn, are within easy reach. Year-round there are activities and attractions for all ages including Gooderstone Water Gardens, Stowe Farm, Grimes Graves, Welney Nature Reserve, High Lodge Forest Adventure Park and Norfolk Cycle Way. There is a good cycling network of quiet lanes from the doorstep, and plenty of space to kick a ball, play cricket or practise frisbee skills. Shops, pubs and Oxburgh Hall (NT), 1 mile.

Nice accommodation although as we had the whole cottage booked we would have appreciated it if the second kitchen had come fully equipped - or at least had a kettle - as there were times when we really good have done with using it. Also did not appreciate being asked to strip the beds on the morning of our departure. Not a great deal on offer locally but in fairness we should have checked that more fully before we booked.

We had a brilliant stay at our host's The Granary. Great location to see lots in Norfolk, a downstairs shower and bedroom, which was a must for our guest who has mobility issues, plenty of space, set up for those who like to cook, beautiful scenery, very helpful hosts and all around fabulous place to stay. The hosts were there when we needed them however, mainly were busy running the farm. We would highly recommend The Granary.
