What we love


Description

With so much beauty to behold on The Isle of Wight, you will need somewhere warm and welcoming to stay; The Galley’s door is always open.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room with patio doors/kitchen area. 1 twin bedroom. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Microwave. Washing machine. Use of owners freezer on request. Small enclosed patio garden and furniture. Parking. No smoking. Wheelchair ramp available.

Only 3 miles from the sandy beach at Sandown, this very comfortable single-storey cottage boasts wonderful panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. Adjoining the owners’ home, with lovely walking from the doorstep, it makes an ideal base from which to explore the numerous places of interest on this beautiful island. Bembridge, its natural harbour crammed with yachts and houseboats, Brading Roman Villa, Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House – the summer home designed by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria in the 1840s – are all well worth a visit, as are the island’s steam railway, the zoo and the busy yachting centre of Cowes. Riding and golf close by. Shop and pub 0.5 miles.

    Our holiday stay athere the galley was very enjoyable despite the weather we were out most of the time. Coming back to the galley was great only fault that we found and nothing to do with the owners is the lane at night is quite busy and there are no pavements so risky if dark. The galley and the owners is very welcoming and kept beautiful, and very quiet.

    We loved are stay it was like home from home in the middle of this organic farm there were lovely walks and not far from the sea . It is very dog friendly and Alfie are dog loved every minute especially the sea
