Took 1 point off for equipment - TV was a bit tricky. Otherwise, we had a lovely time and Sue & Martin could not have been more helpful and friendly. We loved the pigs too.

We stayed at The Duchy for 1 week in September. The accommodation is very nice, clean and spacious. The hot tub is great once you get the hang of timing the lighting of the wood burner. The owners, Sue and Martin are excellent hosts. The local area has some nice places to explore like Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet. If you want to travel further, Dumfries, Stranraer and Ayr are nice to visit. There are some lovely bays to have a walk and a picnic, Rockcliffe and Carrick Bay are very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we hope to return in the future. Alan & Linda

Lovely week spent here. Very helpful owners. Worth noting that the hot tub requires a fire lit approx 3 hours before you wish to use it. In our case, the weather was so hot that once we'd lit it once, it remained warm enough for a cool-down dip for a few days. Very tranquil and private spot, great for unwinding.
