Quirky, bijou but well-appointed. Well situated for walks. Lovely and quiet location by the canal, yet so close to a good main road. Pub and restaurant within a five minute walk. Good beer. Large supermarket within 4 miles. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Dedicated parking space.

As a base for exploring the area The Dovecote is great, It is a decent sized bedroom up top with two easy chairs and a desk with a kitchen / bathroom / toilet downstairs. Outside there is parking for one car and a small garden with table and chairs. It is not somewhere you would want to stay in all day, as it faces away from the sun (stays cool) and has no outward views, but if you use it to eat and sleep it is ideal. Over the road you can rent canoes to paddle up and down the canal and have tea, cakes or more substantial food at Annie's cafe. The canal side paths are great for relaxed walking and everyone locally was very sociable.
