The area boasts an abundance of attractions. Stately homes such as Chatsworth House, Kedleston, Haddon and Hardwick Halls are all within easy reach. At Cromford the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site offers a fascinating insight into the region’s industrial past. Plentiful footpaths and trails provide a great choice of routes for walkers and cyclists. Visit nearby Carsington Water for bike hire, sailing, windsurfing, fishing and bird watching.
Wirksworth is a creative, vibrant community where there is always something going on.     A really lovely place to stay in a fine little town. It is obvious that a lot of time, effort and thought have gone in to making the Counting House a very special place to stay. The owners were really helpful, friendly and thoughtful.
