The cottage was a delight, beautifully decorated, very well equipped and the beds and pillows were so comfortable. Having two showers was very convenient. Garlieston is a lovely village and the dog and I loved the walks by the sea. But that's it. A holiday in Garlieston is very much for someone who keeps their own company and comes with a car load from Waitrose. I would do it again.

A Party of 4, we loved this cottage. Clean, spacious and evrything you need for a comfortable stay. It's the small touches that make the difference. Wine, milk and shortbread on arrival, you could be forgiven for expecting that. But a well stocked spice/herb cupboard and most of things you need to bake.... definetely a cut above. Garlieston is quiet, a get away from it all location. The Harbour Inn is well worth a visit for a warm welcome and great pub food. A car is essential, and there are plenty things to do and see within half an hours drive. We'd have no hesitation in recommending The Cottage for a relaxing, fulfilling stay in Galloway.

Lovely, spacious and comfortable cottage close to a dog friendly beach. Good pub 5 minutes away. Enclosed garden. Generally well equipped, but no knives for preparing food, so we had to buy one. That, however, was our only complaint. Ideal for a quiet holiday, away from it all.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for the nice feedback, and glad to hear you liked the cottage. I should however point out that there are various food preparation knives in the kitchen table drawer. Another time, please ask the cottage caretaker, or the owner via the Cottage Company, if you can’t find anything.
