This is a super house. It's amazingly spacious, comfortable, well equipped and only a stones throw from a lovely beach. The only very minor drawback we found was that the downstairs bathroom is extremely small. The shop at Garlieston is very rudimentary, but there is an excellent Co-op and butchers shop at Wigtown, a short drive away. We had a very nice holiday here and would be more than happy to return.

Beautiful cottage, very well renovated maintaining many period features. Very comfortable and well equipped. Enjoyed the garden and conservatory during the day and the wood burners in the lounge and dinning room in the evening. Garlieston and the surrounding area were lovely with some stunning coastal walks.

This property is deceptively large and homely - the photos don't do it justice - we were very surprised as it is more beautiful than it looks and a little grand! It was spotlessly clean. We were a party of 2 couples and a dog so had plenty of room but it would equally suit a family with young or teenage children. It is well equipt with everything you need - loved sitting in the dining room after our meal playing games out of the dresser! As a holiday let we have just 2 very minor criticisms - loved having a dining table in the kitchen as well as a separate dining room but it does make the kitchen a little cramp and in the downstairs bedroom the plug sockets are behind the bed so not easily accessible - neither of these comments would stop us going back and we would highly recommend it.

The Cottage is referred to locally as The Tardis - when you walk inside you know why! A very spacious, welcoming house - you can tell immediately that it is also used as a home by the owners rather than just a holiday let. Tastefully and thoughtfully furnished, it had everything we needed. Warm and cosy on chilly days and we sat in the garden room and out in the garden on warmer days. Our greyhound loved that fact that it backs onto a large sandy beach and spent most of the week running up and down. Coastal walks in both directions were stunning. The Harbour Inn is dog (and human) friendly and does good pub grub and there is a Fish & Chip van that visits on Fridays. We didn't use the local shop as we were warned it was quite limited, but there is a good Co-Op in Wigtown and larger supermarkets in Newton Stewart. We had a wonderful week and look forward to returning.

Excellently equipped and maintained cottage in a beautiful part of the world. Fantastic fun for dogs on the nearby beach and peace and quiet for humans. Lovely walks from the house. Interesting nearby towns and villages. Would love to return one day.

The cottage was a delight, beautifully decorated, very well equipped and the beds and pillows were so comfortable. Having two showers was very convenient. Garlieston is a lovely village and the dog and I loved the walks by the sea. But that's it. A holiday in Garlieston is very much for someone who keeps their own company and comes with a car load from Waitrose. I would do it again.

A Party of 4, we loved this cottage. Clean, spacious and evrything you need for a comfortable stay. It's the small touches that make the difference. Wine, milk and shortbread on arrival, you could be forgiven for expecting that. But a well stocked spice/herb cupboard and most of things you need to bake.... definetely a cut above. Garlieston is quiet, a get away from it all location. The Harbour Inn is well worth a visit for a warm welcome and great pub food. A car is essential, and there are plenty things to do and see within half an hours drive. We'd have no hesitation in recommending The Cottage for a relaxing, fulfilling stay in Galloway.
