A lovely few days away in a home from home cottage. What a lovely cottage well equipped kitchen, with added extras such as tea, coffee, sugar, foil, cling film, food bags, every thing thought of. Nothing seems too much trouble for the owners, the biscuits and milk an added touch. Very spacious, pet friendly, fantastic location. The sky light windows, fantastic to watch the star filled sky, brilliant ! Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Don't get me wrong.. cottage was lovely, but, 2 things would stop me going back.. the bedrooms have Velux Windows which are noisy when raining, slept 2 night on sofa because of this. The owner runs a garage next door, and I can't say I like to listen to cars reving up when you having a 5 min catch up on sleep. (There would be no privacy if you were to sit outside). I left a day early as I was so tired through lack of sleep... could be just my bad luck, maybe ok for others..

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are so sorry the rain kept you awake, if we could stop the rain we would. We do run a repair garage adjacent to the property but we always take great care when we have guests in the Corn Mill so it doesn't affect them. The noise was not any cars in the garage but the generator near us in the village being used by the council who were repairing the bridge beside us, completely out of our control. The generator was running all the time for five weeks but we are happy to report the work is now finished. We had no engine jobs at all that week in the garage. There is a private garden area with picnic bench by the river for the exclusive use of the cottage guests which has a high hedge surrounding it to give privacy.

Absolutely fantastic! Cosy, rustic cottage with all the amenities you need to serve as a base for a wonderful little lakes holiday. Immaculately clean, warm, everything works, and a superb location just off the A66 and a short drive to Loweswater. Could not find a fault with it. Cannot wait to stay again and will be re booking soon! Will be booking again very soon.
