The Cider Mill Cottage retains much of its 19th century character, whilst providing the perfect place from which to explore surrounding cider apple county.

Ground floor: Dining room. Kitchen. First floor: Living room. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and chairs. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars).

This nicely converted, 19th century, detached, cider mill holiday cottage is near the owner’s farm, with views over lawned gardens and meadows, in the cider apple county just south of the fine medieval town of Ludlow. It’s a short drive from woodland walks, fishing in the Teme Valley and the border country. The dining area retains a magnificent cider mill (one of the few that survive in the area) and the living room has external granary steps. Good walks from the door, and all the attractions of Shropshire and Hereford an easy drive. Shop, pub/restaurant ½ mile.

A lovely comfortable and cosy cottage with all you need for a relaxing holiday. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with a large secure garden for dogs. The owners are a lovely couple and nothing is too much trouble.

What an absolute hidden gem!! From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Firstly from the warm welcome by Sue & Martin (such lovely friendly people, on hand if you need them but leave you to your own devices) then the cosiness of Cider Mill Cottage. We loved it as soon as we entered. The cider mill is breath taking and we spent lots of time just gazing at it. A truly marvellous piece of engineering. The cottage has everything you need and a wonderful enclosed garden space. Our black labs loved every minute of it. The lounge is so homely with the wood burner that at times we didn't know whether to stay downstairs and be mesmerised by the mill or sit upstairs watching the flames flicker in the fire. There are fabulous walks right from the front door. Yeld's Hill Wood is steep but worth the effort and a walk round the village of Orleton is lovely. The Baker's Arms, just a walk down the road, is a welcoming pub with a snug which is dog friendly and we found some delicious produce at Quarry Farm Shop. We had only booked for four nights but were fortunate enough to be able to stay for five. We wouldn't hesitate to go back but it will certainly be for longer.

This is the fourth time we have been to this relaxing cottage. Our dog knows when we are arriving as soon as we turn into the road! We are greeted with a cup of tea from Sue as soon as we arrive. Will be back again soon .

This was our second visit. Delightful accommodation with a huge lawned garden that is totally enclosed and safe for dogs and children. Comfortable beds and seating, cosy and warm. The owners live next door on a working farm and could not be more friendly and helpful without any interfering. They are there if you need them. Everything was clean and uncluttered, and it was very spacious. The kitchen was small and could do with a bit of modernising, and a dishwasher would be helpful, but there was everything we needed to cook and eat all our evening meals. One noticeable feature was there were no notices pinned up with rules to be obeyed. That was very refreshing. It is an excellent place for relaxing. We did, however, miss not having any Wifi. Phone signals were OK.
