Carpets desperately need replacing, front room carpet was disgusting. Kitchen and dining room floor weren't clean needed a proper wash. Kitchen cutlery drawers needed cleaning, in general whole house needed a bit of TLC. Downstairs shower had very low pressure, unable to get a decent shower even though it is a lovely bathroom. The house would be great if all these things were sorted, lovely area.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- We were very concerned about what we might find when we stayed over this weekend but sitting in the lounge now and viewing the lounge carpet over "Strictly", the carpet appears fine and was cleaned not so long ago. It will be cleaned again, along with other rooms, after the room is decorated this winter. House otherwise still feels homely and a great place to be for a relaxing weekend.

Fabulous location as well as a very nice courtyard garden. There was an appreciated welcome gift when we arrived and I received a voice message from the owner welcoming us. We also knew that the parking would be limited, however this was really not a problem for us. We certainly enjoyed the village, beach, amenities and I would recommend. Although I have said I would not stay at this property again, this is because the cleanliness was very poor. We cleaned every utensil prior to using. The bedrooms smelt of mould (front two) the carpets were dirty, my bedroom cabinets - I wrote my name in the dust. The dish washer doesn't really clean and it needs a service. The hob had grease on it when we arrived. It was such a shame, as despite us having two very well behaved dogs - it felt like because dogs are allowed perhaps the caretaker (NOT) the owner thought it okay to leave the house less than clean. We did a thorough clean on the morning we left as we were concerned that any new holiday maker might consider us leaving it dirty (although I did leave the dusty cabinet top with my name in it!) If the cleanliness was improved - then I would definitely recommend this charming , a little dated but nice property

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: We're sorry to read that you were disappointed with the standard of cleaning in the house. We've spoken with the cleaners who clearly had an "off day" when preparing for your visit which is disappointing given the positive feedback which they have received previously. We've visited since and given the house a thorough check; some of the carpets are showing signs of end of season wear but didn't appear to be bad. The dishwasher worked well for us but needed salt and rinse aid, both available in the kitchen. Good to see your comments about the area and other aspects of your stay.

The cottage was very dated, it lacked some creature comforts, the owners definitely need to invest in some double glazing, a new kitchen and furniture, redecorating and although it provided a travel cot there was no high chair, the location was great, but just felt like we were like staying in an old people's home.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We were slightly surprised by this review! The house is advertised as three stars, i.e., not top notch but, as shown in the photographs, quite homely or cosy. Recent guest reviews sum the place up really well; "home from home", "house is lovely" and "welcoming", albeit "not Ikea." We're not quite sure of the value of double glazing in August; not least it's a very quiet road. Five rooms downstairs have been decorated latterly; always more to do and we hope reflected in the star rating..."

Nice big house in good location. Some in our party thought the place seemed tired . However after a couple of days it felt like home from home. Not to say a bit of decorating wouldn't go amiss but other than that it was a nice house and grand kids and dogs had plenty of space and a lovely holiday. We would definitely return to Mundesley but without the extended family we'd stay somewhere smaller.

House is lovely and really close to the beach which is absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed the crazy golf which is right opposite the beach. House is really large and beds are super comfortable .Would defiantly book again.
