we took two of our grandchildren aged 8 and 3 to the carriage for a week. We all had a great time but had an issue with the boiler which was attended to immediately by the owner which was amazing. We had a great fun time playing trains asking for tickets and also outside was a huge lawn for them to play on. It was cosy and the only downside for our 8 year old was the lack of a tv in the bedroom. This is normal and we told her this . The experiance was amazing and thanks to the owners for the welcome pack. We will return.

Fabulous quirky place to stay - very welcoming owners, lovely comfy beds, and plenty of spare blankets in case of cold nights. Dumfries and Galloway is beautiful, and we'd love to come back and explore it more.

This was our second trip to The Carriage, if anything it was better than the first visit. he gift package from the owners was well appreciated. Our two dogs loved being able to have a gallop in the garden although it isn't fully enclosed, the youngest was mesmorised by the cows in the next field. There are wonderful views, surrounding the Carriage and there are plenty of places to walk dogs, our favorites were Dalbeattie woods, Brighouse Bay beach and Doone Bay beach. There is a small tesco in castle Douglas and a tesco superstore in Dumfries. All in all, it is a lovely place to stay and I'm sure we shall be returning sometime next year. Ihope so anyway

We were very warm and cosy in the carriage and enjoyed lovely countryside views from the living room area. The carriage is ideal for two couples holidaying together as the ensuite bedrooms are at located at either of the carriage. We cooked a couple of meals after long days hiking and the carriage has everything you could need to prepare a decent meal. The location is great but it would have been even better if there had been a pub in walking distance. That being said we managed to find the local micro brewery and purchased a few bottles of the local brew to enjoy back at the carriage. We really enjoyed our stay in this unique property and would highly recommend.

Had a fantastic week in this part of Scotland. Loads of things to do in the surrounding areas. Although the carriage is quite close to the A75, we were not disturbed by the noise of the traffic. The owners were the most amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble Would certainly recommend the carriage to family and friends
