'The Byre' was exactly as we hoped for: tasteful and pleasant - admidst scenic surroundings and secluded, yet shopping facilities and places of interest just modest drives away. We thoroughly enjoyed both walking from the doorstep and riding narrow lanes, listening to birdsong and a parliament of crows, visiting Fifehead Wood, the Phillyrea latifolia, Wells Cathedral and Sherborne Abbey, National Trust properties and relaxing 'at home'. The accommodation is superbly furnished & appointed and beyond decorated with exquisite photographs. It was a delight to meet the artist/owner.

Welcoming and informative hosts, perfect location, central to many tourist sites which kept us busy for 7 days, peace and quiet, cozy and comfortable. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends.

We had a lovely comfortable, peaceful stay at The Byre. The log burner was a bonus during the snowy weather, that with underfloor heating the place was cosy and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and also had a beautiful range to cook on. The owners were very welcoming and had left a great package of goodies to help us settle in including wine, beer, cheese chocolate, cookies and crusty bread. There were also the usual essentials like tea, coffee, milk and butter. A very nice touch. We settled in quickly and enjoyed our stay. Great base to go and explore local tourist attractions.

I stayed with my daughter and enjoyed our stay in this peaceful spot. The wood burner and range were very welcome in the cold weather. Lots of footpaths in the area that I used to explore the countryside.

We found The Byre to be cosy and nicely located with lovely views from the sitting room. It was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The wood burning stove was very welcomed on a cold wintery February evening. The owners provided us with a very nice 'welcome pack' that we appreciated. We will return.
