Fabulous place to get away from everything, had a fantastic week . My husband is partially sighted & I have mobility problems & the Byre is perfect for the disabled & able bodied alike. Best place we have stopped, excellent host, friendly & very helpful.

Weekend break at height of season. Cottage was homely with good views across fells & livestock on the door step. Had to drive to most places although we did walk to Eggleston village for lunch (1.5 miles from cottage) and onto Eggleston Hall gardens on the Saturday.

Lovely cottage - well equipped (better than my home!). Wonderfully clean and comfortable. Nice and quiet so if you are looking for a comfy home-from-home this could be ideal for couples. I would advise caution if you have a small child as playing outside could be a little dangerous due to sharp edges, loose stones etc. Nice little BBQ and sitting outside watching sunsets was my ideal way to end the day.

The Byre is very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable break. We received a really warm welcome from Wendy with lots of information. The welcome items were a particularly nice and very thoughtful touch. All this and situated in a beautiful part of the country. We would be very happy to return
