We had a lovely week here. Owners are very friendly and even came round with an electric fan for the heatwave although the cottage is so well insulated we didn’t need to use it. We used it as a base to explore Stonehenge, Stourhead, Lacock, Avebury and Castle Combe among other places. We also walked around the village and along the sadly neglected but lovely canal. We hope to come back as we fell in love with Wiltshire.

Friendly helpful owners live next door. Well equipped (except for salt/pepper pots) Nice quiet/peaceful surroundings. Parking easy. Local pub very good quality but expensive.Best alternatives are the national chains at Chippenham or a streamside cafe at Carne. Good heating arrangements. WiFi good. Cell phone signal weak. Advertised canal nature walk not located. Local roads bumpy, narrow & dangerous.

Very well-appointed cottage. Friendly and helpful landlord. location challenging, a bit remote, too many single-track unmarked roads to navigate.
