Description

Lovely riverside property, with glass balcony and vaulted ceiling, overlooking River Bure, use of motor launch to explore the Broads.

The Boathouse has been built to a nautical theme and has been equipped to the highest standard, offering excellent holiday accommodation. The properties (Refs CVK, CVL, CVM) are within a working boatyard on the banks of the River Bure, enjoying river views, and each property has the added benefit of a motor launch free of charge from 5th September to 15th July. Each has a ground floor compact decked area and first floor glass balcony, providing lovely scenery over the water with all its activity. Designed in ‘upside down’ style, the open-plan living area on the first floor has patio doors leading to the furnished balcony - perfect for relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere. The properties are situated in Wroxham, which is well known as the ‘Capital of the Broads’ and has a selection of cafes, restaurants and shops. One of the best ways to enjoy the Broads is on the water by motor launch or take one of the organised day trips arranged by the neighbouring boatyard. On the water, the beauty of the Broads can be truly experienced with its extensive wildlife (ducks, geese, swans, spoonbills and herons) and its sleepy Broads villages with their pretty flint cottages and attractive churches. The coast is within easy reach with lovely sandy beaches and a string of villages spreading northwards to the bustling sea towns of Cromer and Sheringham. Alternatively, Norwich is 8 miles away with cathedral, museums, theatre, shops and restaurants. National Trust properties well worth a visit are Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall. Shop 500 yards.

Four bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room and toilet, and patio doors to decked area; two double and two twin. First floor: Living/dining room and galley-style kitchen area with beech wooden floor and patio doors to glass wrap-around balcony with river views. Bathroom with toilet.

Parking (for 2 cars)

Electricity, full gas central heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. Mini hi-fi. Microwave. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. First floor balcony. Decked area with furniture. No smoking. Free motor launch 5th September - 15th July; other dates at preferential hire rates. NB: Decked area has water frontage. These properties have a security deposit of £50 for all bookings which include pets.

We enjoyed our stay at Waterside. The apartment was large, on two floors, with verandas top and bottom. Lovely views down the river and very quiet. The beds were comfy but too low. The settees weren't very comfy - perhaps it's time for a change for both beds and settees.... It was a very hot week and were glad we took a tower fan with us. The use of a boat was a definite plus. Staff very friendly and helpful and a welcome pack provided which was a nice surprise.

We had a wonderful 4 days break, great place to stay & having the use of a boat gave us the freedom to go out & visit other villages.

The Cottage provided very spacious accommodation for our two families comprising X4 adults and X4 grown up children. Waterside was very lovely, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Its location on the Broads is stunning! It provided a fabulous base for us to explore the local area while also being within a very short distance of the local pub and shops. It was also a great bonus to have the day boat.
