Excellent cottage, clean, tidy and comfortable. Helpful owner and caretaker who were able to give help if needed. Local pub nearby which served typical pub food which was of good quality. Many attractions within a reasonable driving distance. All in all a good place to go and we would recommend it.

We stay at the Blacksmiths Shop several times a year, the cottage is very clean, comfortable. The Crown Inn is just minutes away, and serves excellent food, also dog friendly , Doom Bar ale is on draft, an excellent drink. We are always assured of a friendly welcome of home made scones with jam and cream. Just a few miles is the lovely town of Fowey, we will continue to come to the cottage.

A lovely welcome at the cottage by Jacqui and a very welcomed cream tea on arrival. The cottage was immaculately clean and had all the facilities you could need. However, there was an unmistakable musty smell, probably due to the granite construction. If like my Wife, you have a very sensitive nose, a few joss sticks really help. Some net curtains in the bedroom would be nice to save having the lights on all the time. One other small thing, the electrics are on a sort of timer that is in the bedroom and this gives a fairly loud 'click' twice a night, at 12 and 7 I believe, which woke me every day. The pub in the Village was quaint and welcoming but the food was not as good as expected. (reviewed elsewhere) Overall a lovely cottage in a nice location with easy access to lots of local attractions.

Lovely cottage situated in a rural environment. A lovely and beautiful getaway for a couple. It wouldn't be big enough for a family due to the parking as even my small car only just fitted. Perfect for visiting the Eden project, Charlestown and the like. The local eatery was delicious and certainly worth visiting. Big supermarkets are plentiful in St Austell and Bodmin for all shopping needs. Really recommend it.
