Great location for nature lovers and bird-watchers in particular because of the access to the north Norfolk coast and its nature reserves.

I want to say that I was somewhat disappointed with the barn. It was definitely not up to the usual standard. Here a number of examples...the shower was either very hot or cold, nothing in between. One of the wall sockets in the kitchen didn't work and some of the tiles are coming off the wall. The cooker could do with updating, only a single shelf. I know we had to supply our own towels, but it would have been useful to say that tea towels and oven gloves would be useful. Also there was a lack of cleaning materials to wipe down the property before leaving. The final observation was that there was no one to meet us or even hand the key to at the end, which felt a bit strange. The building itself was lovely and the area is fantastic, but for the money paid, it just left us feeling as if we had paid too much.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am sorry you did not find the Barn to your liking and would just like to cover a few of the points raised. We have been made aware recently of the broken socket in the kitchen but we tend to keep unessential jobs till the end of the season and there are 7 other sockets in the kitchen that do work. The cooker works well and has the standard shelf and meat tray. We decided this season not to supply oven gloves or tea towels as we find they regularly get taken but we will certainly look into this again for the future. It has never been our policy to greet guests as we live several hundred miles away and Saturday is an incredibly busy day for our cleaner. We do however supply complimentary toiletries which I hope you enjoyed. I will certainly be asking for cleaning materials to be left, which they normally are! As for the shower, again we apologise, but our plan for this winter is to update the bathroom and there is an ongoing problem in our area with water pressure. Unfortunately at the end of this particular week an extended cleaning time was needed because an enormous amount of dog hair was found all over the sheets and the bedroom carpet. Clients are asked not to have their dogs upstairs or on the furniture and there is an official leaflet to that effect on The Barn noticeboard.
